Navigating Music Technology in the Clinical Music Therapy Practice

Biography:
Marijke Groothuis, MMTh, BA, NMT-f and Bed, is senior lecturer at ArtEZ University of the Arts, Enschede. In addition to this she also works at a Special Education Needs School, School Lyndensteyn Beetsterzwaag, with children (4-18 years) with physically, physically and mentally disabled and chronic ill children. She provides music therapy and music education to these children. Due to her expertise in the use of music technology in clinical settings she was asked to educate new generations of music therapists at ArtEZ. Now she is doing research with Carola Werger, publishes articles and chapters, and gives workshops/lectures and presentations in the Netherlands and abroad about how to apply music technology in clinical settings and how to educate new generations of music therapists.
